Rhythms of Morocco album by Chalf Hassan was released Mar 01, 2005 on the ARC Music label. Not really a traditionalist, Chalf Hassan nonetheless does a pretty good job of capturing the aesthetic of a location or mood. Rhythms of Morocco music CDs His oud playing is informed far more by North African influences than Spanish ones (in particular one can hear parallels to the Gnawa gnbri throughout the album). Rhythms of Morocco songs The sound does draw from sources beyond Morocco, with keyboards reminiscent of Algerian sounds and flute pieces reminiscent of Turkish idioms.
